Heavy Duty Dream! January 29, 2005 Maryiat (MD) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought two of these sets and have since bought other items in this line. This is the KitchenAid "Professional" series. It's heavier than anything else I looked at and the performance is excellent. The styling is great, but the same as the lighter weight line which can be confusing. No folds in the corners means no place for anything to adhere. The wide rims are great for handling. With rolled edges, nothing snags. As heavy as they are with the wide, stabilizing borders, I don't see how I could ever warp them. The "slide" feature on the cookie sheets makes removal to the cooling rack a breeze. The racks were a separate purchase. They are equally well designed and highly functional. Cleaning is effortless on all pieces. I have had absolutely no need to put it in a dishwasher, though that is supposedly ok too. I prefer not to use one as a rule. Remember to remove your baking to a cutting board. Theoretically, it's ok to use metal utensils, but I'm not taking any risks with the perfect surface. This surface gives a lovely golden "finish" to the crust of bread, scones, and biscuits or to muffins. It's strong and uniform, but still tender not tough. The muffin pan was also a separate purchase made after trying this set. No more sleeves! I hope KitchenAid expands this line, it's phenomenal. The only thing that could be better would be more of them. It's worth replacing your old pans, finally! This set of three was an exceptional value. It was at the cost of one pan when I bought it.
