1 out of 5 stars Avoid this TERRIBLE product at all costs! Just Terrible!   May 24, 2007

I can't remember the last time I came across such a miserable, worthless product--this is a real STINKER! I can't imagine what it's good for, other than wasting our money and making money for some large corporation that parents KitchenAid!

You certainly can't bake with these mats'o hell--everything sticks (even with non-stick spray which makes the cookies taste awful), and you have destroyed cookies that crumble as you are tearing thier stuck butts off of the mat! UGG! And the kitchen reeks of a terrible heated plastic smell which settles on the cookie a little--even my dog smelled the offered cookie twice, and he never does this!

YECH!

Parchment paper is more expensive in the long run--but SO much easier and functional, and well perfect. I will never veer away from parchment paper again!

AVOID THIS ONE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Good product, have to adjust cooking times   January 3, 2007

I have always struggled to make the perfect cookie. They have either turned out under or over cooked. Since I have used this product Ihave never had the bottom of my cookies burn. I have put in 2 baking sheets one with the silcone sheet and one without. The ones on the silcone sheet cook better. I did however have to cook them longer and watch them closely. With each recipe I had to adjust the cooking (usually longer) to get the best cookies.

I have baked cinnamon rolls, pizza, and cookies, including macaroons on this mat and NOTHING sticks! The reverse side is designed for kneading dough. Again, no sticking! I am happy with the product, but have recently discovered plain parchment paper seems to work just as well(not for kneading dough though). I haven't had time to compare, but parchment seems to be the cheaper lo-tech way to achieve the same goal and can be torn to match the size of different baking sheets. Something to think about, eh?

5 out of 5 stars A must have for cookie sheets and baking trays   December 1, 2005

Let me say first that you will not throw out your baking trays because of this little gem. It makes your cleanup simple, lifting baked items simple and storage simple.

Your cookie sheets if anything drips off might need a little rinse, but that's it. It's really around to add support for the silicone mat. The other important thing is that everything bakes evenly. I throw the mat in the top rack of the dishwasher and roll it up and store it in the same drawer with the cookie sheets...

Which I have never had to scrub again.

I recevied this product a few days ago and have got to tell you that it is a time and money saver. I use cookie sheets to bake stuff in and they tend to get really scratched up while cleaning. I use this as a liner for those pans and now I just give them a good wash with the sponge(no scraping) and the mat as well as my pan are like new.
