This beautiful copper paper towel holder brings old world charm to your kitchen. The decorative knob on top comes off for removing the old spool, replacing it with a new roll. The slender arm on the side keeps towels from trailing off.Lacquers are used to prevent tarnishing and to maintain the polished look. While copper cookware often comes with a lacquer that needs to be removed before use, the lacquer on the paper towel holder does not require removal.

A combination of brass and copper lets this paper towel holder blend into a variety of kitchen decors. The hammered brass base, lightweight for easy lifting, is given additional heft and stability by a steel bar that secures the two brass rods underneath. Adding a decorative accent that doubles as a handle, a round "birdcage" filial tops the taller rod. The shorter rod assists in the tearing process. Both the brass and copper parts of the holder are brightly polished. With the provided screws, both rods secure tightly from underneath (a Phillips-head screwdriver is required). Old Dutch has coated the metal towel holder with a lacquer finish that resists tarnishing and simply wipes clean. The holder stands 15 inches tall. --Ann Bieri

This paper towel holder looks gorgeous and is a very nice addition to my copper collection. The only drawback - as mentioned in other reviews - is that the top has to be unscrewed every time a new paper towel roll is needed.
It looks great, but I wouldn't say it is the most practical.

This is a beautiful item. The copper and brass together make this an interesting paper towel holder for any kitchen. The base is made of copper and is not as substantial as I would have liked it to be, but the weights that attach to the base make it quite stable.
The paper towels pull off the roll easily and the bar makes it easy to only get the amount of paper towel that you want.
This item blends beautifully with other copper kitchen items and has given my kitchen a proffesional look. I quite happy with it and proud of the way it looks in my kitchen.

It is everything I wanted except for one extremely annoying little detail, you have to unscrew the globe-like atlas on the top for quite a bit and remove it prior to replacing the paper towels. For this reason I was looking to buy a different copper paper towel holder as this is very inconvenient in the kitchen. Beauty just doesn't get it done.
