5 out of 5 stars Blender does a great job   July 4, 2008

I use this blender to mix protein shakes before and sometimes after workouts, and it really does a good job of blending the powder and milk in a short amount of time.

5 out of 5 stars Great value   March 9, 2008

I was hesitant to buy this model because it was so inexpensive I thought it might be flimsy or lacking power compared to some of the others I was considering, but the price was so good I couldn't resist. I'm glad, because it's great. So far I've used it for scrambling eggs (nice & fluffy) and making smoothies. Very solid, easy as heck to clean, and more powerful than I expected.

5 out of 5 stars Great, Inexpensive, Hand Blender   August 20, 2007

Works great! Powerful motor blends the thickest shakes with little effort. I usually use the low setting so the shake does not become "frothy".

5 out of 5 stars simple, sturdy, useful   May 10, 2007

I needed a simple hand-held blender, the kind

    * you could just keep on the counter without losing much real estate
    * you could use and use and not have to worry that it'll fall apart
    * that was strong enough to handle whatever goo had to be mixed
    * that co$t less than a concert ticket
    * that didn't have any detachable parts that would be lost the first day
    * you could just rinse off when done and forget till next time

This is that blender. Only drawback: it's got a cord. Minor issue if you're using it in the same place pretty much all the time. The two speeds make it even more useful. Excellent product, a steal if it's still about 14 and change.

5 out of 5 stars so many jobs well done   February 20, 2007

Wonderful for making smoothies, refried beans, creamy potatoes, quickly pureeing soups that call for transferring batches to food processor - just stick it in the pot and it blends in a few seconds. It creams hard frozen bananas just like ice cream. I just put my food processor way up high in the "little used" storage area of my kitchen because this Rival hand blender makes it unnecessary. I use it several times a week and have had it since 1993. I keep finding more uses for it every week. Clean up takes seconds since the only area to get really messy is the blade area at the end. The blades are rounded and very easy to clean with your fingers.
