Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
With its original '50s design and versatile output, this ice crusher is a great kitchen and bar companion. Fantastic for making margaritas, snow cones and more! Choose from fine or coarse crushed ice. Crushes one quart of ice in two minutes. Heavy-duty all metal top with polished chrome finish, ruby red base. Lifetime warranty on moving parts. Model 7174.

Amazon.com Review
A fun and snazzy gift for the margarita and frozen daiquiri lover, this hand-cranked ice crusher is right out of Ozzie and Harriet. Load the ice cubes in, crank away, and stop when the ice reaches the proper consistency, from coarse to fine, for either cocktails, slushies, or a bed of ice for displaying oysters on the half-shell. The top and handle are sturdily constructed of metal in a polished chrome finish, while the plastic base is available in a choice of clear or a translucent color. Wash all the parts by hand, and relax knowing there's a lifetime warranty on all moving parts. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Built to last   March 27, 2008

I bought this ice crusher after going through (2) electric crushers by
Waring Pro. The Waring Pro is not designed for every day use, because
after about 6-8 weeks the crushing gears become damaged and slip, poor
design. I must say this little crusher is built to last and holds up to
several uses each day, also found that if you wet the ice before crushing
the cranking is slightly easier.

I bought this item from Amazon in February 2007.
After 2 or 3 months, I started noticing silver sprinkled
in my ice. I finally put 2 & 2 together and figured
it had to do with the "chrome' wearing off the crusher.

I sent them an e-mail on July 3rd & got a nice response.
I thought I would get a replacement from them but since
that initial response I've e-mailed them 3 times & been
met with TOTAL SILENCE.

Don't bother with this company.

3 out of 5 stars pretty good, very pretty   July 12, 2007

I gave this as a gift to my boyfriend, who likes to make crushed ice drinks. I hoped that we could avoid using the electric blender, but no luck. The ice just does not get crushed small enough. However, it is pretty to look at, nice and heavy, and easy to use. If you don't care about making "slush" type drinks, then you might be very happy with it.

My Grandparents had an ice crusher that looked like a torpedo and hung on the wall. I was hoping to find one like that... BUT this works just fine...
