Product Description
LamsonSharp's Ebony series forged cutlery feature Dymondwood resin-infused wood handles that are heat and water resistant. Air pockets along the blade edge (known as kullenschliff, granton edge or hollow edge) help to keep the knife moving freely and reduce sticking. Santoku knives have a sheep's foot blade style - meaning the gently curved tip of the blade visually resembles an ungulate's (a hoofed animal) hoof. The word Santoku means "three virtues" in Japanese, which refers to the tasks of slicing, dicing and mincing. The blades are one-piece full tang, made from hardened and tempered high-carbon stainless steel from Solingen, Germany. The blades are also taper-ground, polished, hand-edged and honed. The handles are triple riveted with nickel silver rivets for perfect balance and weight. All LamsonSharp knives are covered under the Sharp For Life program. All LamsonSharp knife owners can have their knives sharpened by the craftsmen who made them, for life. Every open stock LamsonSharp forged knife also comes with its own LamsonSharp KnifeSafe - a durable, easy-to-care-for, nontoxic, food grade, clear polypropylene sheath.
