| Customer Reviews:
Size is not as advertised April 14, 2008 J. Stephens (Statesboro, Georgia USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very well-made and useful product. I would have given 5 stars if the dimensions had been accurate. I have a very large double sink and this just barely fits front to back. It won't go in sideways. It is sturdy, has no sharp edges and appears to be durable. The baskets are different sizes (not the same as shown in the picture. One is about a third bigger than the other. If it will fit your sink it's a great buy. I use it to shell and devein shrimp and to wash and then drain fruit and vegetables. It also will work well as a no mess thawing rack or pasta colander. It's a nice product and worth what it costs.
Better than I hoped. January 22, 2008 SortaTired (New York, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this colander thinking the two compartments might be a problem, but they are bigger than I imagined and it really is like getting two colanders in one. Pro: It's great if you have to have rinse off multiple items. I don't have to take turns washing off mushrooms while I'm straining pasta or something. Didn't realize how often this actually happens. The rubber arms are strong and thickly padded AND reach farther than the other strainers of this type I have seen and tried (the expensive Oneida version's arms were weak and didn't even reach across my sink). Overall construction is extremely sturdy. Con: the legs are way too short to be useful preventing backwash if for some reason you have to set the strainer down in the sink. The holes in the strainer are a little larger than my last strainer. This might be a problem if you need to use it for straining very fine particles out of a liquid. Suggestion: It might be nice if the two compartments had different sized mesh: one super-fine and one larger-sized strainer for rinsing vegetables and such. Overall grade: 4.5 stars and a big smile. I am very happy with this purchase.
a pleasant surprise March 27, 2007 Honest-but-private Kevin (NJ USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was prepared for something flimsy ... but this product is fairly sturdy, considering it is nothing more than a giant screened bowl (two actually). The extensions work well, the cushioned arms are good stuff. Well made. It's nice when a product exceeds your expectations.
