 Fine mesh can rinse rice, but not super fine for Quinoa October 8, 2008

I bought this to rinse Quinoa, but the holes are not small enough for that. However, this is great for rinsing rice of any size and any pasta. The feet make it super easy compared to my handled strainer; I just set this in the sink and dump in the stuff to rinse and give it a good shake with the slip-proof handles. I am glad I got it!
Hint: I found that to rinse Quinoa, spread it out on a fine mesh splatter screen and carefully spray it clean. A splatter screen is a screen disc you use over a pan for frying to reduce the mess, very handy tool.

This is a very good strainer. Heavy duty handles and easy to use. I especially like the feet so I can just set it in the seek and don't have to have someone else holding it.

This is a great colander, but..... I find it to be most convenient when used to wash rice.
I put the rice into the strainer, hold it under the faucet, and rinse the rice well. This has been the fastest, and most convenient manner that I have found to accomplish this task.
This strainer is very well constructed,as well as being quite streamlined, and beautiful.
I highly recommend this strainer!
