Stylish Measuring May 21, 2008 Traveling Culinary Artist (NYC, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Well designed, attractive and very useful. These measuring tools are great, a little on the heavy side, but that speaks to the quality of the metal. I love the ring that keeps them steady on the counter and the dual usage of cup and spoon!
heavy weight, variable quality, would not purchase again April 2, 2008 M. Walden 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
much heavier than expected, smooth and shiny inside, brushed matte outside. partial measurement markings on inside are nice touch but some of them aren't clearly imprinted (think old fashioned typewriter where part of the die didn't strike) -- i.e. "30mL" just has lower half of 3 and 0. I'm sure I'll misplace the donut and be annoyed at some point for not being able to stand the cups on their own, but like having something different than standard measuring cups. Will probably get a set of normal flat cups as well! ADDENDUM -- I've had these a while now. So when I contacted them about the poorly stamped cup, they replaced the one cup. However, the new one is really over-stamped (like an old-fashioned typewriter, the o's and a's are filled in), and the handle is much thinner; the lip around the measuring spoon part is wayyyyy thinner than the original set. The shiny inside surface scratches easily. Overall, they're still interesting cups, but the quality seems to vary considerably. Also, they don't stack well. The three smaller cups dip into the largest at a sharp angle and they swing around at different angles. A novelty item but definitely would not purchase again unless they were on super clearance for five bucks or so.
