I bought this on a whim and I wasn't quite sure how often I would use it. Turns out it has become a staple in my kitchen! I use it at least 4 times a week to steam veggies or fish. It's quick, there's little to no clean up, and it works incredibly well! I've used microwave steamers in the past to poor results. This steamer really holds in flavors and doesn't let food get mushy. Wonderful, Wonderful!

I purchased this steamer after also purchasing two Orka tagines. This steamer has the same bottom as the tagine, just a different top (and the tagine seems a bit stiffer). We have had great success steaming fish and vegetables with this steamer. A fast, easy way to make moist, delicious food. Works much better than grilling/baking with aluminum foil. Easy clean up--the steamer bottom (which we coat with cooking spray) goes right into the dishwasher.
Highly recommended!

I use this steamer almost daily to steam frozen and/or fresh veggies. I don't add any water (or very little sometimes) to frozen veggies, and it cooks in less time than the package says (about half the time). Cleanup is easy, mostly just rinsing and wiping out. I also have the personal steamer size for smaller portions. Because it's silicone, you can take it out of the microwave with your bare hands. I love it.

Forget the expanding steel insert over water. This tight fitting lid and bowl combo allows for perfect steaming of large portions of vegetables or a complete casserole. Needs very little extra water added and less time in microwave then plastic containers with covers or wax paper. Collapsable silicon saves space in storage.
