Product Description This is the coolest looking little gadget we've seen in a long time. Think of it as modern art for the kitchen. Better yet, it does a darn good job at whisking! The individual wires are topped with weighted balls that work at any angle and into corners to aerate and whip eggs and batters.
Amazon.com Review In this new design for classic whisks, the individual beaded wires make short work of both mixing and washing. Eleven long wires surround one shorter one, and with the independent movement and extra weight provided by the end bead, air is incorporated much more thoroughly into whisked food. For example, a pint of chilled cream whipped about 30% faster, while eggs for omelets took about five seconds. Washing is simpler, too. There are no little crevices for thickened liquid to get caught in, and it's dishwasher-safe. If there is any drawback at all, it's that you may overbeat food the first use or two--after that, you're sure to remember to adjust the time. --Jill Lightner

Ineresting new design but not without flaws October 29, 2008 *~ Sunshine ~* (Beautiful Iowa, the place to grow.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I picked a few of these up in different sizes as I thought they were the neatest things when I saw them. They are useful when stirring things like puddings and sauces on the stove while heating. They get into the corners as described and are flexible yet firm. The problem I've had with them is that they are top heavy and will fall out onto the counter or floor if you aren't careful, making quite a mess. You may think of this as my "user error" but it's an easy oversight when you've been used to leaning your whisk, spoon, or spatula against the side of your pot or bowl in the past and having it remain there. The fact that this is entirely stainless is a plus in my book as you can wash it in the dishwasher without worry, but, on the other hand, it will tend to get very hot if you use it while cooking. I've not gotten rid of my other whisks, as some other reviewers stated they had, but I do pull this one out when I'm cooking things like puddings, sauces, or candy on the stove. Also, those little metal balls do make odd noises when they scrape along the bottoms of the pans. The metal to metal sounds rather like fingernails on a chalkboard at times. You can overlook it for the improved performance if you're not too sensitive. I noticed that WMF has come out with some different, less-expensive models with silicone beads and what looks like composite or plastic handles. This could resolve the weight and heat problems that this one has, though I've not used the newer version.
Improved idea for an old standby! September 30, 2008 PJ VEGAS (LAS VEGAS, NV) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The WMF Profi-Plus 11-Inch Stainless Steel Ball Whisk is such a great idea. Although I thought it was a bit pricey I'm so glad that I purchased it. I'm such a gadget person anyway that when I come across an item that is new or improved I just have to try it. I was not disappointed with this item. This item seems to be well made with strong wires, not flimsy and hopefully will last a long time. This ball whisk not only whisks perfectly and efficiently but cleanup is a snap! The wire whisk is a little difficult to clean properly at times when food particles get trapped in the wires (I don't use a dishwasher). Many times I had thought of clipping off the end of the wire whisk so I was glad to come across the ball whisk. In time I will purchase the other sizes. I have not tried whisking heavy cream so I can't attest to its' efficiency in that area.
Magic for sauces!! January 11, 2008 Marc Thimmel (midcoast maine) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This tool is simply revolutionary for anyone who uses a whisk while cooking;while I still prefer a traditional whisk for mixing in bowls, this one is a must have for mixing in pots and pans.In the case of sauces where thorough mixing is required constantly,it gets right to the edges insuring no flour or cornstarch chunks. It was an instant favorite. Also super easy to clean!!
A whisk that gets in the "corners" August 16, 2007 One Tree in the Forest (Del Rio, Tennessee, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The review written by Jenel "Book Lover" "Not all it's creacked up to be" cracked me up!!! I don't care if a whisk goes "clack-clack-clack" or "toot-toot-toot" because I don't use whisks for "sound effects". This style of whisk is my second most used one. (#1 is a "Krona Sauce Master Whisk and #3 is a simple "French [spring] Whisk". I have "donated"' ALL of my "regular balloon wire whisks" and use only these three designs.) THIS ONE IS WONDERFUL for "getting into corners" of containers with vertical sides. It is absolutely the easiest of all whisks to clean, and the combination of wires of differing lengths assures wonderfully thorough blending. Unlike a few other reviewers though, I don't like it for use in flatish containers (like sauté pans) as a little too much "enthusiasm" with it makes splashing things in the surrounding area too easy. (For sauté pans the "Krona Sauce Master Whisk cannot be beat!!!)
Not all it's cracked up to be May 29, 2007 Jenel 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this based on rave reviews online, but I've been disappointed. I don't like the clack-clack-clack sound this whisk makes when it hits the sides of the glass bowl, and I find that the independent movement of all the pieces gets in the way of smooth mixing. I'm now shopping for a new whisk. I read in America's Test Kitchen's cookbook that their favorite was a narrow balloon-shaped whisk, so I'm on the hunt.
