 Nice tongs for certain use but won't replace traditional tongs April 19, 2008

These tongs have some really nice qualities. They are nice and sturdy and lock easily for easy storage. I particularly like using them for removing items from the toaster, flipping light, delicate items like fish, etc. But they really can't handle much weight at all without losing their grip so I find that more often than not I either need to use a regular spatula or traditional tongs. So these are nice to have in addition to these, but for the price, I'm not sure they are versatile enough for most people.

I saw a similar item on an info commercial and bought it at a local store. It was garbage. Bought the real deal, this one, and have been using it for at least 2 years and it is the most used item in the kitchen. I recently purchased another because my first one is always in the wash.

These locking tongs are of superb quality (well designed, heavy-gauge steel, solidly made and ergonomic locking mechanism, strong business end, smoothly finished). They're easy and comfortable to handle and open & lock. They're strong enough to use as a spatula as well as flipper and whisk. The smoothly rounded ends are easy on cookware, and can even be used gently on nonstick cookware. You will find these a joy to use.
