Product Description French Fry Cutter, Thin & Thick With 2 Stainless Steel Blades, 25 & 49 Hole.
Amazon.com Review This lightweight cutter divides a potato into its french-fry essence in a jiffy. One blade creates up to 49 3/8-inch fries with a single lever-push. The other creates up to 25 half-inch fries. You'll get those numbers, however, only if you precisely shape a large potato to fit the bed. The bed's size is the cutter's only drawback. Even if you cut a large potato to fit the head, the fry length is at most 3-1/2 inches. That length, however, is ideal for carrot, cucumber, and zucchini batons to assemble a vegetable tray around a bagna cauda, an Italian dipping sauce of olive oil, butter, garlic, and anchovies. And such batons get you halfway to a pretty dice for a vegetable soup. Hand wash. --Fred Brack

excellent for a beginner "CHEF" December 16, 2008 Adelaida Alvarez (BROOKLYN, NY) I purchase the progressive veetable/french fry cutter for my 14 year old daughter who is now attending a specialized culinary art high school, enjoying her H.S years in becoming a chef. This is a wonder product and very well suitable for slicing quick veggies and fries.. I highly recommend it to all those young teenagers who are just starting to learn the "how to".. great product... I give it 4 1/2 stars!!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS... RESPECTFULLY, ADELAIDA
needs too much muscle December 14, 2008 beth (u.s.) My daughter and I were not able to use this cutter at all. You've got to have a lot of muscle to push anything through the blades, and we simply couldn't do it at all.
good fries December 12, 2008 Maria (Cincinnati) The cutter works great - the smaller size is better. Makes great french fries and comes apart nicely so can clean it - great product.
Perfect Fries Everytime December 8, 2008 S. Killian (Charlotte, NC United States) I bought this item more than 8 years ago. Still works like a champ. You have to cut the potatoes to a smaller size to fit. But not a big sacrifice to get perfect fries everytime. Cleaning is no big deal. Take it a part, rinse the pieces and pop into the diswasher on the top rack. Put back together and keep going.
Great for the price October 23, 2008 Georgia Vallejos (Salt Lake City, Utah) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had an old french fry cutter that I finally tossed because it was rusty (yuck). I got this one, and have to say that I am very happy with it. I am surprised that some people wrote that it takes quite a bit of force. I was expecting it to take some muscle, so I put my potato in there and gave it a hefty pull. The potato went through like butter and flew halfway across the counter. I didn't hardly use any force on the next spud, and it went through like butter again. This time it didn't fly away. I am a 55-year-old, 100 pound lady, not the incredible hulk! It would be nice if the base was just an inch longer but for the price, I will cut my potatoes in half. It still makes nice size fries. In fact, I prefer the shorter, stumpier fries. They look more homemade and fit on a plate better.
