Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Heart-healthy sauteing? Get advanced non-stick performance in a commercial-weight cookware. Omelettes will slide easily out of this pan, even the ones stuffed with cheese and potatoes.

Amazon.com Review
This small, lightweight pan is wonderful for creating omelets and crepes and for sautéing and frying vegetables and meats. The body of the pan is made of hard-anodized aluminum with an aluminum core for superior heat conductivity, while the shiny stainless-steel handle is shaped for easy gripping and pierced for hanging. Its nonstick interior makes it easy to cook without oil or fat, although adding a bit of oil or butter helps brown foods. As with all nonstick cookware, be sure to use only nonmetal utensils with this pan. --Jennifer Harris

5 out of 5 stars why this high price?   May 10, 2004

This is a great pan, But why would anyone buy this pan for this price?
When you can buy the 8inch and the 10inch together for $29.99??
But now I see it for $39.99, That is still a good buy, But not this one pan for this price????

Also I notice that Amazon does sell Caphalon for good price's, but be careful as the prices change as fast as the stock market does!(( from day to day))..

If you do buy something from Amazon and see it for a lower price with-in 30days, you can Call Amazon and get it for the lower price. ( but why should we have to check this out all the time?)

I bought 2 of the 4qt. chefs casserole pans with lid for 39.99, then it went to $49.99, bought 1 more (for kids), now its a great buy for $34.99!!!
For $34.99 going to buy one and save it for Xmas or Chunuka, never know who is going to show up, and for that price who cares.
This also makes a great house warming gift.

Before you buy this 8in. pan, check out the two together for the better price.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT PRODUCT   March 26, 2004
I've been using this pan for about a year. We've been doing the Atkins diet & I make an omelette every morning to take to work. It's fast, easy and the pan cleans great. I bought it when it was on sale which makes it even better.

1 out of 5 stars Overrated and Overpriced   November 5, 2003

I purchased this pan about 8 months ago -not thru Amazon- and was expecting a quality product from a quality company. Boy, was I disappointed! Like a previous reviewer, I made the same mistake twice. After about ten attempts to produce a decent omelette, I returned it to the store I'd purchased it from. I thought I'd simply gotten a "lemon." The retailer wanted me to take the time, expense and aggravation to send it off to Caphalon myself. I flatly refused, and said that I wasn't shelling out my hard earned money to return Caphalon's defective equipment. After, a discussion with the manager I accepted a replacement. Bad move. This was just as bad as the one I'd returned. Like its predecessor, it had hot spots, food stuck to it, and it scratched - EVEN WHEN I USED CAPHALON UTENSILS!- back it when for a full refund.

Bottom line - don't waste your money on this. I had a $3.00 non-stick omelette pan from IKEA that ran rings around this pan. Omelettes never burned, food didn't stick, and it cleaned up with nothing more formidable that a paper towel. I opted to purchase a black steel omelette pan from a local restaurant supplier. After seasoning it, it's now wonderfully discolored, and turns out the best omelettes I've ever made. It's made of carbon steel, it's solid, and damn-near indestructable. Best of all it only set me back all of $13.00.

Shame on you Caphalon!

1 out of 5 stars worthless...as an omelette pan   October 8, 2003

i bought this junk TWICE. i was so shocked at the poor quality the first time, that i was sure i had found a bad one. nope. the next one stunk, too. i have had calphalon pans in the past, and was very pleased. these two stuck like a $3 pan. i sent my second one back to the company. i requested that a new one NOT be sent to me. i sent it to give them proof at how poor their quality control was. i also requested the name of an excellent non-stick omelette pan manufacturer. money was no issue. i would rather pay $1,000 for a product that i like than $100 for a product that i don't like. what did they do? sent me another pan. that one stinks, too. it looks like all-clad is the one to get. i will be getting that brand next, and crossing my fingers. the bottom line: calphalon is WAY overrated.

5 out of 5 stars mandatory purchase for the Atkins dieter   August 1, 2003

This is ideal for those on the Atkins diet that want to make an omelette on-the-fly. This will help immensely with that tedium(for those of us that consider boiling and egg to be a chore) as omelettes will just come out looking like... well, an omelette.
