Amazon.com Review
How many times have you bent a cheap spoon in a rock-hard pint of ice cream? You need a sturdy scoop like this one to get the job done. The comfortably wide 6-inch-long handle makes for a more powerful grip, and the capacious bowl is almost 3 inches deep--big enough for the most ambitious helping of mocha chip. There's no release lever to get the ice cream out of the scoop, but otherwise, this is the perfect tool for that anonymous midnight raid on your icebox. I scream, you scream.... --Mary Park

2 out of 5 stars Junk!   September 8, 2008
C. Kleist
This was my favorite scoop. "Was" being the key word. Like many other reviewers, I've had problems with the chrome finish pitting and peeling. While unattractive, it didn't seem to impact my use of the scoop. But this past week, while scooping some ice cream, the scoop snapped right in half. Kitchenaid's website lists this product as having a warranty, but as I've found with two of my Kitchenaid silicone scrapers: impossible to create a warranty claim.
Find another scoop.

5 out of 5 stars Who could ask for anything more   August 13, 2008
Mike W. (Washington DC)
Solid construction, nice materials this scoop will not disappiont. I bought this scoop to replace one that snapped in some hard ice cream, but I have no fear that this one will ever snap in even the hardest ice cream

1 out of 5 stars Has just lasted 12 months and it's ready to throw out!!!   June 23, 2008
Koalablue (AR USA)
Like the other recent posts, I agree, it's not worth the money. I was so impressed with this scoop when I first got it but after a year of light use it's pitting in the scoop! Shame on Kitchen Aid for producing such an inferior product!

Now looking for a new one and certainly won't be going near this brand again.

4 out of 5 stars Ice Cream Scoop   May 29, 2008

It seems to stick to the ice cream but overall it is a good product.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed!   January 5, 2008
J. Lim (Philadelphia, PA)
I usually love KitchenAid products. I immediately grabbed a red scooper when our generic scooper peeled and had to throw out. I liked the KitchenAid's solid handle and the weightiness. Soon after (a couple of months),however, I noticed that it started peeling, just like the one I paid much less for! Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with this product and had to buy another one. (Now I'm using a scooper from Foodnetwork line and liking it very much!)
