ordered this item from amazon after checking many web sites, the cost of the product along with free shipping saved me anywhere from $20.00 to more than $40.00. I'm surprised that it arrived 2 days after ordering without having to pay extra. it's a really great place to find great values.

I purchased this set of Oneida to add to an existing set that we purchased a few years ago. Looking at it online, it appeared the exact same. After arrival I compared the sets, the new one is thiner and the knives are made of one piece of steel rather than the thicker two pieces joined at the center of the older set. All of the pieces are marked with "viet nam" instead of USA. I did not attempt to return them as I just didn't have the time so I am using them but am not very pleased. I won't try and buy anything to match an existing item online again. If you are not matching any other set, it is pretty, shiny and the pattern is attractive. However, it is certainly not the same quality that the made in "USA" is.

I bought the Oneida Flight pattern 2.5 years ago when I graduated from college - Loved the pattern, loved the weight, loved the quality. This year, I wanted to add more place settings (I only got a service for 8 the first time), so I ordered this set thinking that it would add to my current set. Unfortunately, in the last two years, Oneida has changed the manufacturer. Instead of the heavy, made in the USA set that you could purchase two years ago, Oneida is selling a similar looking lighter, made in Vietnam set. It's noticeably less good - The knives are much lighter and handles are thinner, the forks are shorter, and the serving peoples seem "cheap." If you can get the older USA version (which by the way is the set pictured - the product that you'll receive is similar but not exact), I'd recommend it instead of this set. I found a few of the bigger chain stores that have a couple boxes of it left on the back of the shelves.
