Product Description Hardy soups, pastas and veggies rejoice! This Calphalon stock pot combines the beauty of mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel with the superior performance of a highly conductive, heavy-gauge aluminum core. Lifetime warranty.
Amazon.com Review With aluminum cores enclosed by stainless-steel layers, Calphalon's Tri-Ply pots and pans deliver the attributes of both metals. The aluminum cores conduct heat quickly and uniformly across the pots' and pans' bottoms and all the way up their sides. The durable, 18/10 stainless-steel interiors and exteriors are easy to clean, resist scratching, denting, warping, and corrosion, and are nonreactive to acidic food. This 8-quart stockpot has a domed glass lid so cooking can be monitored without releasing heat. The lid is oven-safe to 450 degrees F, ensuring the pot not only can be used atop a stove for cooking pasta and simmering stock, soup, and chili but also in the oven for slow cooking. The handles stay cool on the stovetop, and the pot's rim is flared to facilitate dripless pouring. Tri-Ply cookware is polished to a mirror finish outside for beauty and wears a satin finish inside to conceal inevitable utensil marks. It goes safely into the dishwasher, although hand washing is preferred to preserve the mirror finish. It also carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Great size, high quality May 10, 2005 Craig Cook (Raleigh, NC, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Lifetime warranty - all high quality cookware should come with this. Large, heavy and conducts heat well. (6 quart is a little small). Great for making stews, soups and stocks. Also doubles as a dutch oven. Stainless steel - Surface will not react with any food like (plain) Aluminum does. Food develops a nice "fond" (the brown stuff that forms on the bottom of the pan). Fond contains a lot of great flavor. You do not get this with non stick. Glass lids - you can see what is happening with your food, you do not need to lift off the lid and loose heat to check anything. Comfortable handles - The short side handles will get hot. The metal handle on the lid does get warm though. Easy clean up - if you end up with badly stuck food, use some bar keepers friend.
