Amazon.com Review Perfect for reducing sauces or cooking vegetables on the stovetop and for braising meat in the oven, this shallow, 2-1/2-quart saucepan is coated with nonstick inside to release food readily and clean easily. The nonstick is durable enough to go safely into the oven at temperatures up to 450 degrees F. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a matte finish, the pan conducts heat uniformly and quickly. Because the aluminum is anodized it's harder than steel and the pan won't scratch, chip, or crack. The oval, rolled stainless-steel handle stays cool on the stovetop and has a hanging hole for the pan to be stored on hook or peg. The domed glass lid collects and returns moisture to food and permits monitoring of cooking without reducing the temperature inside the pan. Calphalon Professional Nonstick cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

For the money... November 18, 2005 Lance Jacobs (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You can't beat it. I got mine 3 years ago for about $20. I've used it a couple times a month since then--whenever I need to make a small pot of soup, a little polenta, some pasta sauce, whatever--and have always had good results. If you're wanting a good pan at a great price, look no further. You won't be disappointed. I haven't been.
The Only Pan You'll Ever Need March 23, 2005 Genvieve (Denver, Colorado) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this pan 3 years ago. I have not been 'religious' about using the appropriate spatula, as some other reviewers have stated, and, besides a few scratches in the bottom I can't complain. I also throw this pan in the dishwasher...what can I say, I like my stuff REALLY clean. And, besides some unsightly discoloring on the outside of the pan, it is basically the same. It is a great pan...we use it in the oven, on the stovetop, it also will fit in all refridgerators for ease of 'oven-to-fridge' and back again. I've used it to cook small roasts, saute vegetables, cook pasta, boil eggs...you name it. If you are looking for an 'everyday' pan that you plan on abusing a bit then I recommend this one.
two-year life span December 24, 2004 S. C. Daubner (College Station, TX USA) I thought I loved this pan. I have used the dickens out of it, I guess, because it is two years old and the non-stick surface is peeling off. I have been very religious about using only good plastic spatulas to stir with, so it isn't my fault. I thought Calphalon would last longer.
Best Saucepan Ever June 29, 2004 A. Stephens (Dallas, TX) I love this pan so much, I want the whole set. I can't say enough positives. This is a great piece.
Excellent Cookware February 16, 2004 I bought this pot last year because it was on sale and a friend of mine swears by Calphalon Cookware. Well I guess I agree with her. I love it so much I am going to purchase the whole set. The Professional II line is no longer available but the Contemporary Non-Stick line took it's place so that's my next purchase. I have always uses Revereware, as did my mother, until I cooked with Calphalon. This cookware is very heavy and cooks even plus this line is non-stick in the pots as well as the friers. Plus with the glass lids you can see the food cooking without raising the lid. Also I have a ceramic stove top and your pots have to be perfectly flat on the bottom to use on that type of stove. This cookware is perfect for ceramic stove tops. Plus oven proof and lifetime warranty what else could you ask for?
