Sizzling steaks hot off the grill look even more succulent when served on this large serving platter, which could also be used as an oversized dinner plate for hungry eaters at 13-inches long. White with rich red and green holly and ivy, the platter's center is ringed with the lyrics to an ancient English carol: The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown, of all the trees that are in the woods the holly bears the crown. Portmeirion's Holly and Ivy pattern was designed by second-generation Portmeirion designer Anwyl Cooper-Willis in 1996 as a contemporary arrangement of antique illustrations with a flowing script of a lyric from the 17th Century English carol it's named after. The design and script are hand-painted on high-quality earthenware, and the platter is safe in the freezer, microwave, and dishwasher--making clean-up a breeze. It can also be placed in the oven and heated gradually up to 390 degrees F. Match with any Holly and Ivy piece, or coordinate with the Botanic Garden collection. --Jeff Dalto
