When we tried out this blender, it pulverized the ice in no time flat! I have another Oster that is second hand and probably 20 years old. The rubber seal leaks, but that is all. Oster makes great blenders.

Why anyone think less than great of this blender is beyond me. I've had it for about a month now and I have been making Pi~na Coladas none stop! The ice is crushed so that it looks like a smoothie. Never before have I had a blender that does such a great job crushing ice. The old blenders I've had used to just hit the ice and send it back to the top and when it was time to serve the drinks, there were huge ice chunks still left inside, but not with this blender, in about 30 seconds all the ice is completely crushed for a two person serving. I highly recommend this product, it is a great blender for a very affordable price, you can't possibly go wrong here.

Yes, this blender is loud but I can finally make smoothies with frozen fruit for my kids without them bringing me their cups complaining "it's stuck." I have a Kitchenaide blender, the wide base older model, it always leaves huge chunks of strawberries. It drives me nuts. I saw this Oster at Sam's Club and took a chance on it since we make smoothies every single day. I came right home and made different kinds of smoothies. Wonderful!! I even made one with a raw carrot and apple. Perfect...no lumps. If you are a smoothie family, get this blender and never have to worry about your kids taking the top off their sippy cup because the spout was full of frozen fruit. Worth every penny!!

I'm only 19-years-old, but I came on here to get a blender that actually works, and that has good reviews. The last one my mom got was very bad, and it left huge chunks of fruit and ice in the smoothies I would make. This one does no such thing, and there is not chunks of anything left behind. That's because this blender blends it all, and it's amazing! A little loud like some other reviewers have been saying. It's blending up ice, fruit, e.t.c., so do you really expect that to be not noisy?! It certainly isn't that loud at all. It's about as loud as all other blenders are. Someone also said that it had a short cord. Let me tell you, the last blender I used had a super short cord, but this one is twice as long as that one. It also is easy to clean too. You can either chose to put it in the dishwasher or you can read the instructions (put 3 cups of warm water, 1 to 2 drops of dish washing liquid, and blend away for 10-15 seconds to clean. I prefer the second method better. This blender makes professional smoothies in my opinion for a very affordable price. It's great all around if you ask me.

With all the reviews, I figure it should be able to handle crushed watermelons right? Not always, I have to keep shaking it to do some thing that simple. Haven't tried it with ice yet. Not hopeful
