I use the small spoon daily. It's the perfect size for a tiny 7 month old mouth. She gets just enough to taste but not too much to overwhelm.

We love these sets and now buy them as First Birthday gifts. They are so much better than plastic ones as they aren't over-sized. The fork actually works and the spoons have a more normal sized bowl so they don't interfere with learning to eat the way some plastic and rubber ones do.

My daughter didn't get much use out of this set as the small fork and spoon are very small. I recommend getting the three piece (knife, fork and spoon) Oneida child cutlery set instead, which is fabulous -- the pieces are bigger but still easy to handle, and our toddler, now verging on preschool age, has used it for a long period of time.
