The vacuum insulation provides excellent heat (or cold) retention for up to 12 hours, and the black synthetic handle and spout make pouring easy. Primula takes the guesswork out of whether the contents are too hot or not hot enough with TempAssure technology, which consists of a probe inside the vessel that reads vapor from the beverage, then displays the temperature externally on the lid. Lives up to most of the claims. It does hold a full pot of coffee, keeps it hot for several hours. Because the temperature probe is shorter than the line the pot of coffee reaches, the accuracy of it is not great.
 Kept it HOT but the red button broke... January 7, 2008

Had it less than a year and worked fine but the button for pouring just stopped working broke somehow!!! Trying to get a replacement from the manufacturer. Keeping fingers crossed as I paid the $40+ for it and had it less than a year.

This holds a full pot of coffee, but doesn't keep it nearly as hot as the smaller carafe I own. Good for a few hours, but beyond that, you'll need to heat the contents again.
