Product Description
Bacteria that make good compost need air so simply thrust the pointed end of this tool into the compost heap and pull it up so the paddles open out introducing more air which allows the fermentation process to continue. Plated tubular steel handle and heavy steel paddles. 30 in long.

I bought this tool because I had read some glowing reviews on it. I am disappointed that it doesn't work better than it does. It is not easy to push the tool into the compost pile, and the wings that are supposed to open when lifting the tool, usually don't open. I have tried oiling the wings, and that helped - they now open sometimes instead of never!
Someone should design a new tool with longer wings and more of them. That would do that job better. Till then, this is probably the best you're going to get - unless you go back to the basic pitchfork.

You plunge it in to your compost, you pull it out. It stirs, it mixes, it increased microbial bliss. Much better than an old rake in smaller compost containers. If you compost, this is what you need to buy next.

This is a great essental tool, but be aware that if you also us biodegradable compost bags they will stick on the tool and be really hard to remove.
