they work ok for short periods February 17, 2008 Campbell T. Peters (NY/VT, USA) i don't mind using these for short periods, but for more than say an hour they become uncomfortable. the problem is that they slip down under your knees unless you have them tight enough that you lose circulation in your legs... this has been my experience with all brands of kneepads i've used though, so i'm neither surprised nor too bothered about it. the hard plastic surface can be a bit slippy if you're doing tile work, for example, but it's a boon if you're outside working in a gravel bed, for example.
Well... they do their job. October 14, 2007 D. Halli (PDX, OR USA) For the price, they do a great job. The plastic knee portion is durable and slides well (important when on your knees all day doing floors). The padding is sufficient. The straps... well, they're not the best ever. They tend to loosen a bit, and the elastic is too soft to hold well yet too stiff to be really comfortable. This isn't to say that they're incredibly uncomfortable... not at all. I'm just saying there are others that are more comfortable. The others have a much bigger price tag, though... I picked up 4 pair of 'em on a Friday Sale, for dirt cheap. I use them a LOT, and they do hold up very well.
So much for so Little! August 24, 2007 Richard Coleman (chicago,Il) this is a wonderful product and of all the kneepads that ive used, this one suprised me for it's durability and comfort. To a Carpenter, these boys are like a luxury car.
Your Knees Will Love You August 9, 2007 James Pietruszka (Eastern PA) My knees are not what they used to be (upper 50s), so any kneeling I had to do (various types of home repair and auto repair) could involve pain. I have a pair of heavy duty knee pads I got at Sears that serve me well for extended use projects, but I also wanted a "spare" set for general use and quick tasks. I wanted protection that was inexpensive, but sturdy enough to take some mild abuse. I believe I found that product with the Nicholas 343X Hard Shell kneepads. They are comfortable, and cushion my knees very nicely. The only problem I noticed was that the kneepads will slowly slip down with extended use and while walking, thus the 4 star rating. This is not a big deal with me, and in my experience all kneepads slip to some extent. I keep them in my car so they are with me most of the time, and they are cheap enough that it is not a big concern if I have to replace them. I may even get another set to keep in the house so I can always have the other set in the car. I'll reserve my heavy duty kneepads for the long job where abuse is common.
I like these very much July 23, 2007 TimInChicago (Chicago, IL USA) I like these a lot and actually feel like they move around less than others I have used. They are not as hot as others I've worn although you'll certainly sweat if it's warm. I've worn them on bare legs with shorts as well and they are as comfortable as can be expected - not bad at all. Great value.
