Amazon.com Product Description The Black & Decker Hedge Hog dual action hedge trimmer with extra long blades is especially useful on taller and wider hedges and shrubs, with an inline motor design which delivers improved balance, control and precision. Using a patented blade design, this tool is strong enough to cut through branches up to 3/4 inch thick and offers dual action (both blades move) for faster cutting and 40 percent less vibration for comfort. This hedge trimmer also features a powerful 3.3 Amp motor with gear reduction for added durability; a lightweight 6.2-pound construction; full wrap-around bale handle with soft rubber grip for increased comfort and control; and extra long 24-inch pre-hardened steel blades for extended reach, even cutting, and long-lasting sharpness. Built with a lock-on switch for continuous running, a lock-off switch to prevent accidental starting, and a built-in cord retention system to avoid accidental unplugging, this convenient hedge trimmer comes fully assembled and is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Makes a hard job a little easier September 6, 2008 James L. Burke (Houston, Texas) Super sharp, long reach and easy to handle. The blade however is a little weak and easy to bend it you put the trimmer down the wrong way; be careful! Good value, hope it lasts 12 years like my old one!
Black & Decker Hedge Hog Trimmer # HH2450 September 6, 2008 David L. Ellis (Georgetown, TX) I knew I wanted an electric, corded, hedge trimmer; so I read all the Amazon.com reviews for this type product. The B&D HH2450 model had more 5-star reviews than all other brands, so that's why I purchased it. It is easy to use and cuts my hedge like a hot knife through butter. I'd rate this as an excellent trimmer and the long 24 inch blades give me the 'reach' needed to cut our 'deep' hedge. Another plus is the relatively light weight given it's size/length and more than adequate power of the motor. Use it properly by planning your cutting path and keeping the cord away from the blades at all times; and it will serve you well. David Ellis
switched from gas powered trimmer August 25, 2008 Larry J. Secoy Recieved the B & D trimmer and same day trimmed all my hedges. There are many. Not one problem. I've used a gas powered trimmer for 18 years. Never again. This is lighter and easier to handle plus less noise. Yes, there is a cord, but, was still easier to use. Would buy another in a minute.
Hedge Trimmer Review August 24, 2008 Paul Arvin (Sitka, AK USA) This is an excellent power tool. Am well satisfied with the Black and Decker line of tools
Heavy hog... August 22, 2008 Rusty (CA) This thing is a lot heavier than I expected. It cuts well, but it will not come close to cutting 3/4 inch branches as advertised. In fact, it takes multiple efforts to cut 1/2 inch branches. If you need a long hedger, this is a good choice, but remember, it's heavy!
