4 out of 5 stars Great for full-figured cats   November 20, 2008
Jason A. Thomas (USA)
We had to take our cat Leila to a show for Reubenesque cats. The problem is that we needed some way to transport her. In the past, we've tried wheelbarrows at these shows, but we have found that it's difficult to navigate a traditional wheelbarrow on the show floor and dealers rooms where everyone else has their wheelbarrows and carts. Something we could drag behind us would be much better.

Our first attempt at using a "Radio Flyer" was brief and sad. About halfway through the first day, her weight caused the axel to grind down, and finally one of the wheels sheared off. She poured out of the wagon like a hefty bag full of hot applesauce. A few of the attendees were nice enough to help us get her into the car, and we just had to go back home and missed the rest of the show.

This year we upgraded to the Tricam Gorilla Cart. The payload IS a little smaller than we expected, as other reviewers have commented. We were hoping to have enough room in the cart for her and a weekend's supply of food, but she filled the tub pretty completely, so we just tied the sacks of food on the sides of the cart. It looked sort of like a chuck wagon! We talked about getting a cover for it next year, and maybe putting a giant pair of chaps on Leila.

Anyhow, the cart held up fine. She was below the 600 pound capacity of course, and the cart didn't sag, shatter, warp, or make embarassing creaking noises like the others we'd tried in the past. Sometimes when she was purring, the whole cart sort of vibrated, but it didn't affect its functionality.

My only recommendation might be to make the tub a little larger. She came right up to the rim, and a couple of times when we went around a corner, some of her would "spill out", but we would just grab it and push it back in the cart.

Was impressed with how well the bottom of the cart was built but the plastic part of the cart is smaller than it looks and also very flimsy would have been much better to pay a few bucks more for a steel or thicker plastic. When I put firewood in it the plastic top bulges and will not hold anywhere near 600 lbs. without breaking the plastic

Hello everyone,

I have been using Gorilla products for a while and I have to say they are REALLY good. I have Gorilla ladders that I have had for years and they are still like brand new. They get put through the ringer when I do projects and they can take it!! When I am done with my project I just dust it off and put it away for the next time. So that's why I purchased this cart, it's the multi-purpose cart for hauling basically anything. It can take a beating too, I use it for hauling metal, dirt, even groceries ha ha ha, and it works like a champ! One of the features I like the most is it's big inflatable rubber wheels, one day I was hauling a really good size amount of groceries into my condo, I had to get into the elevator and it had a bit of a step it was not even, I thought for sure I was going to be there huffing and puffing to get the cart over that step...let me tell you that does tires on that cart took the step like if it wasn't even there...right over it, that's when I said I'm loving this cart so I started treating it better hahahaha I even washed it and it looks brand new!! Thanks Gorilla keep up the good work!!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!!   October 14, 2008

I purchased this item on a Friday morning and requested standard shipping. By Saturday afternoon, it was on my front porch. "Some assembly required" means the whole thing comes disassembled, but if you can read directions, you can put this together yourself. Very sturdy and great buy!!!

I haven't true tested it for poundage. But so far I love it. It wasn't something I was planning on getting but I live alone and I am over 65, still have many yearly yard tasks to do involving hauling salt, sod, dirt, plants etc. All my chores are getting harder to do and taking longer so it's my perfect little helper and it dumps! Was a breeze to put together, great price for its size, as I did an extensive search to find something better and came up with everthing way to expensive, I highly recommed it.
