Product Description This easy-grip can opener from Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex opens any size can using only one hand. Attach it to your can and watch it go - it walks, cuts then shuts itself off automatically. Plug it in for easy recharging overnight; it opens 19 or more cans on a single charge. The removable cutting lever lifts off for easy cleaning. The compact-size can opener stores in your drawer.

Waste of money August 12, 2008 Ray (florida) It's very difficult or next to impossible to clamp down on a can. It's not worth the effort.
Hands Free Can Opener May 31, 2008 Susie Q (Grovetown, GA United States) It works ok for the price, but is a little difficult for me to use. It takes a little "pressure" to push the blade piece down onto the can and is difficult for those with bone/joint/muscle issues-disabilities. I also did not realize that the can opens from the top, not smoothly from below the lids. So at times, I have had "splash-overs" from the liquid on the can. Would only recommend it for those who want a "hands free", but do not have any medical issues with use of hands/wrist. This item is definitely not for the "physically impaired"!
Nifty kitchen gadget but requires thumb strength March 26, 2008 T. Maas (Byron Center, MI USA) I bought this can opener for my 84-year old dad. I tried it out myself and thought, "Nifty, he should like this!". I showed my dad how to use it last night and we spent a half hour trying all different hand positions to find one where he could press the thin actuator lever down without any success. I think I will keep this for myself and buy him one that sits on the counter so he can push his whole weight down on its lever. I would not recommend this gadget for an older adult.
Really Struts Its Stuff & Good Value March 20, 2008 Guru (New England, USA) Delivered everything it was supposed to. One-hand operation (no hands, once it gets started); opens a lot of cans on single charge; no batteries to buy/change and its size makes it a dream to put in a handy but out-of-the-way spot (drawer, cabinet corner, etc). Had no trouble using it (you can see the cutting blade to make sure it's in position to pierce can) but you do have to pay attention when opening small cans 'cuz the opener is usually heavier than the can so both wind up tipping over. Great for camping or people who have dexterity problems. Going to buy one for my mom (with arthritis & limited kitchen space) and my daughter (with limited kitchen space & inquisitive toddler).
This little can opener is Great! February 14, 2008 J. L. Kramer (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania United States) Been looking for an small, easy to use and easy to store can opener. A friend told me about this one. It is the best. Right out of the box it went to work without a charge and after I figured out the best way to get it on the can, off it went on it's own. Have used it on a variety of sizes of cans and it always does the job perfectly. The size is just right for sitting on the corner of a shelf always in easy reach. Cannot recommed it highly enough.
