I have finally found a can opener that's counter-worthy. After using a manual one that gave me fits this is perfect. Yes you do have to hold the lever down and stop it yourself, but a small price to pay for can-opening perfection. I have cut myself before on sharp lids, but no more. I was trying to open about 6 cans in a row with a manual one and besides getting tired of cranking it, it kept leaving some parts of the can uncut. I read the reviews on this one and was glad I purchased it.

I love this can opener! My old one would always leave a mess on the blade and sometimes the lid would fall into the can, but this one leaves absolutely no mess or sharp edges! Yes it would have been nice to have auto shut-off, but it opens quickly and I can tell when to stop by the ridges it leaves on the lid when opening. My only regret is that I didn't have one years ago!

I haven't had this very long, but so far I really like it. According to some reviews I should have never gotten it. First off I never saw it advertised as being automatic shut-off or one touch operation. It is basically one touch but you have to hold the lever. BIG DEAL!! That doesn't bother me as I stay with the can until it is open anyway, had to with my last can opener or , once the machine shutoff, my can would fall. I like this as I don't get any paper or other debris in with the can contents and it is fairly quick. I like the way it really gets a grip on the can and only lets it go when you release it. The only regret that I have is that it is made in China, which is to be expected of small kitchen appliances. There isn't much choice now. That is the reason for me giving it a 4 star rating.
