Disappointed... August 5, 2008 HNW (Pennsylvania) I purchased these over a year ago. After a few months, one of them broke in half at the weak point where the magnet is located while I was washing it. Since then, another one has broken. It starts with a crack and then 'POP', one becomes two! The only positives that I can give are the persimmon color and that there is the 2 Tablespoon measurement. I still use the broken pieces, but it would have been nice if they had stayed whole. They just aren't very sturdy.
Functional and handy! July 6, 2008 C. Cooley 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had these for a few months now and love them. They have magnets in the handles to hold them together as a set and there is a 2 tablespoon measure that comes in really handy. My only grip is that there seems to be a weak point in the handles where the magnets are placed and they could crack there. Other that that, they're great.
The magnets are great! March 25, 2008 K. Bishop (Palatine, IL) I recently purchased the Batali measuring spoons so I would have an extra set since I use them constantly. The persimmon color is great and I love that they're magnetized. My only complaint is that I'd like them to be a bit sturdier. My metal set is indestructible but I am more careful with these since they're plastic. I would definitely recommend the Batali measuring spoons - especially if you own other pieces in the persimmon color.
Great idea!! January 15, 2008 Y. M. SHORE (Stafford, Va United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These measuring spoons are wonderful!! No more digging through my drawer looking for a particular spoon; they're all right there. The only disadvantage is that there is no 1/2 tbsp. Highly recommended!!
a novel idea, but... February 6, 2007 N. Rose 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Initially I thought that nesting magnetic measuring spoons would be a very practical idea. Unfortunately, these spoons are designed with the tiny magnets embedded in the back of the handles, concealed with a thin disc of plastic. Within a week I found one of the magnets on the floor of my kitchen...the disc had dislodged and is now lost, and I fear the other spoons will suffer the same fate. Also, if your kitchen drawer is as cluttered as mine, you may find that the magnets are not quite strong enough to hold the spoons together when jostled about with the other items in the drawer. On a positive note, I do like the fact that the spoons are lightweight (but I question durability), I like the color, and having a different unit of measure on each end of the spoon is convenient.
