4 out of 5 stars Works fine, could be better made for the price   August 16, 2008
Paula (California, USA)
My wife and I are happy with this mixer. I won't repeat what other's have said, but my only comment is the silver motor housing is made of shiny plastic. For the cost of this mixer, I would expect it to be made of metal. It does make delicious shakes and it's easy to clean.

I, too, was hesitant about spending this much $$ to make milkshakes; however, the kids love to make shakes and the standard blender is hard for them to clean (not to mention the sharp blades). After our first use, my 15-year-old son said that he was "Ecstatic!". Anyone with teenagers knows how hard it is to achieve an emotional response--normally I get a monosyllabic grunt.

My family loves old fashioned, real milk shakes. This product works like a dream and I made a perfect milk shake on the first attempt. It is sort of big and I was trying to find a place to store it in my kitchen and my family laughed. Keep it on the counter, they said, it won't be worth your time to put it away! It is worth every penny!!!

1 out of 5 stars Bad Design - The Empire State Mixer   May 28, 2004

Earth to Waring, Earth to Waring: Standard American kitchens are designed with 18" of clearance from the counter top to the bottom of the cabinets. Your 18 3/8" tall mixer DOES NOT FIT on most kitchen counters. Hello, Waring, do you copy?

The unit looks well made, but the ridiculously tall design makes it impossible to store. It's also overpriced. It's going back...

1 out of 5 stars Mixless Christmas   December 27, 2002

Our daughter loves fruit smoothies more than anything, so we ordered the Waring Drink Mixer for her for Christmas. When we opened it up to set it up on Christmas Eve, there was no mixing cup in the box. It may be a good product, but poor customer service ruined her Christmas morning...
