Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
An essential tool for making pie crust from scratch (as well as a number of other things) this blender lets you get the job done quickly and comfortably thanks to the strong stainless steel wires and the soft oversized, non-slip handle.

Amazon.com Review
Trying to blend butter or margarine with dry ingredients is no easy task. Although it can be accomplished with the crossing of swords (in this case, butter knives), your arms and hands certainly bear the brunt. Enter the dough blender by Oxo. The sturdy stainless-steel wires do the work of 12 butter knives and hold up swimmingly under pressure. The wide, nonslip handle will absorb the stress the work puts on your hands, making this tool as comfortable to use as it is easy. It's also great for making crumb topping for coffeecakes, cobblers, and fruit crisps. And, like all Good Grips gadgets, it's dishwasher-safe. --Laurie Notaro

1 out of 5 stars worst buy. waste of money   July 11, 2008

i brought this at bb&B and this is one of the worst kitchen tool

the wires bent all different angels and don't do the cutting of butter into the flour as fast as the other ones.

don't waste your money on this.

3 out of 5 stars OK but too flexible   January 6, 2007

The ribs are just too bendy for my taste. I use cold butter and lard so I need something that won't slip around the edges of the fat instead of cutting through it. I always used two criss-crossed butter knives and don't find that this works as well. I'd prefer the similarly shaped nut chopper to this.

5 out of 5 stars A great item!   September 12, 2005

I'm a loyal fan of the OXO Good Grips line. I bought this OXO dough blender to replace an old one I had become frustrated with because it had a wooden handle that had become loose. I've used my new OXO dough blender once so far, and it's exactly what I was looking for.

4 out of 5 stars Comfortable and unless you are using it like a mortar and pestle....   September 9, 2005

you should'nt really have a problem with the wire flexibility. I like this one! It's comfortable, reliable, economical and cleans up easily. Find a better one that meets all those criteria (if you can).

1 out of 5 stars wires too flexible, they just clump together   July 18, 2005

Usually OXO products are fairly tough and durable, but not this one. It is impossible to cut cold butter and flower with this blender because the wires just clump all together. You would have better luck with a fork and that isn't saying much.

I haven't found a replacement product, but I have seen ones that have solid metal stripes rather than wires.
