Amazon.com Review Stored in their black, hardwood block, the five stainless-steel kitchen knives in this set fulfill a cook's needs and also look great with their stylish stainless-steel handles poking out. Along with the knives comes an 8-inch sharpening steel for keeping their edges aligned. The knives are stamped from high-carbon stainless steel and their stainless-steel handles are shaped to snugly fit the hand. The five kitchen knives in the set include an 8-inch chef's knife for rocking through chopping tasks, an 8-inch slicing knife for carving meats and poultry, a 6-inch utility knife for making sandwiches and myriad other jobs, a 6-inch boning knife with a narrow blade for cutting around bones and fileting, and a 3-1/2-inch paring knife for fruits and vegetables. All the knives are dishwasher-safe, but hand washing protects the edges better. --Fred Brack What's in the Box 8-inch chef's, 8-inch slicing, 6-inch utility, 6-inch boning, 3-1/2-inch paring, 8-inch sharpening steel, 8-slot black hardwood block

Very Sharp and Good Quality Blades that I Still Use July 11, 2008 Leo Mckenzie III (SANFORD, NC United States) I ordered these knives a few years ago and am just now getting around to posting my quick review on them. I love these knives. They are sharp and fairly good quality. I have used them day to day and have cut many meats, vegetables and even bone. They do get dull, but the included blade sharpener does a really good job on putting an edge back. These blades are thin, but help keep them sharp. You will be happy with these knives.
good product January 19, 2007 Robert Trestman ultra sharp, holds edge for a very long time, short tang, thin blades, good knock off- not real sabatier, not for pros.
Can't beat it for the money June 4, 2004 Stefan Wrobel (Irvine, CA USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
These knives are attractive and very sharp for how cheap they are. Just to quell some confusion, there are only 5 knives, the last 2 "pieces" are the knife block and sharpener.
Sleek expensive looking set for cheap! May 14, 2004 magik (Paramus, NJ USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's a very nice looking set, looks like its worth a hundred or so and for only $15 (the price I paid when it was on sale) it's a definite good buy. However, the quality itself isn't that great, yes the blades are stainless steel and they cut very well but the handle is made out of plastic and I wonder when they will break or chip and become discolored therefore rendering the rest of the set useless. Anyway, its just there for 'show' and not used as my main knife set and for its price its worth it.
Great starter set! April 23, 2004 P. Kuhn (Newtonville, MA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you have roommates, but also cook, you know the stress of having "nice" equipment. These knives are perfect for such a situation! While very inexpensive, they are are of good quality, and it is a complete set. I'm very impressed with their weight and strength. They are also pretty stylish - impress your friends! Some complained that they are not sharp out of the box.. but that's why they come with a sharpener!
