Product Description With all those attachments and turbo power, there's not much this slender blender can't do! Whisk egg whites or cream, blend drinks, chop onions and purEe soup, all with ease and convenience.
Amazon.com Review Braun's Multiquick Professional improves on an appliance that's already highly convenient. With a 400-watt motor, this updated hand blender has increased power for faster and better results. A dial on the top of the handle allows you to select from five different blending speeds, giving you more control over the consistency of your purées. A turbo button on the front of the handle lets you immediately switch up to the highest blending speed. The hand-blender attachment has a unique blade that offers smoother and more even blending, making it ideal for puréeing fruit shakes, soups, or homemade baby food. In addition, the hand-blender shaft has an innovative antisplashing design that prevents food from splattering on your kitchen walls during blending. Other included attachments are a minifood processor with an antislip bottom for chopping foods such as herbs, onions, or meats and a whisk for whipping egg whites, cake batter, or cream. The set also comes with a tall lidded beaker that is a convenient shape for blending smoothies and for storing leftovers, and a wall holder for storage. The hand blender, chopper, whisk, and beaker are all dishwasher-safe, and the unit is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Smoothie King!! Well Built Yet Compact Enough for Travel August 18, 2008 Joel Dauteuil (Bethlehem, NH USA) All around best blender out there. Key difference between this and a lot of other similar devices: 400 watts, compact size, and sturdy build. The solid design also makes it the easiest kitchen clean up I can imagine: Pop off the bottom half with the blade and run it under hot water in the sink - done in 10 seconds. Traditional blenders have been a let down mainly because I can't travel with them and clean up is ridiculous. We've found this thing can do everything we throw at it: raw food prep (yes with lots of nuts/pates etc. - it all works), smoothies while traveling etc. I don't carry around the blender attachment with me while traveling - it's just a treat to use when I'm home. It's about a quart or more and you just attach the handheld to the top of the blender carafe and that's it. The included carafe is also super easy to clean because the rotate blade inside comes out - so it's two pieces. And, like title of this post says "it is the smoothie king". I'm thoroughly impressed. We've had two now for almost two years and they're still going strong: one for home use, one for the 'on the road' kit.
Hand Held Blenders, Braun, Great...But... August 16, 2008 G.W.B. NH3 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a non paid response to a product purchased from the Amazon.com site. I purchased this replacement Braun, six weeks ago. The replacement Braun hand blender is 400 watt opposed to the replaced one, which was a 200 watt version. The 200 watt version replaced a less powered version too. I owned the 200 watt model two years. I blend 4 times a week, omelets and fruits. the two earlier versions were GREAT kitchen tools. Both earlier models were under powered. I fried the motor in the first one, via over usage. The second I ground the rubber to metal joining connector, within the hand/motor to blend/washable/removable head, from bad usage or from over usage. This new Braun MR5550CA Multiquick Professional Hand Blender has a stronger rubber to metal joining connector and has an improved motor rating. The new unit stays cool. This new unit has a dual speed push button, where one is full power, the other is variable sped interdependent upon the top speed dial. For my dollar and usage this is one fantastic tool. For the power, the price was very good. BUT: for my needs, the a mini chopper/blender included was a waste. I paid for this and had no choice to say NO. The packaging was extensive and elaborate, a lot of unnecessary plastic and virgin beautiful ornate cardboard. I would have liked to receive the unit in brown recycled paper, and no mini chopper (with or without receiving credit for refusal of this addition, as this chopper is not bad quality, its just that a cook usually has a full sized chopper, and with over dependence/usage of oil....). Would I buy this unit again? In all measures except those stated: Unnecessary attachments, and overkill of packaging. For my usage, I conclude this Braun MR5550CA @ $64.67 delivered to be the best choice I could find, as I spent four hours researching on-line, with personal experience and past similar kitchen tool usage for my reference. I would buy this unit again. Great tool. I hope it lasts. Sincerely, ChangeItOrDrownIt
great but fragile May 31, 2007 Jerryf 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this tool and am in the process of getting another... what? you ask, why getting another? Well we have found this appliance to be quite fragile. We have cracked the lid twice (replaced once by Braun) and recently had a total meltdown of the bearings at the center of the main mixing lid and in the motor unit itself. This was not economically repairable. I think this is a design error since while we use it alot we do not abuse it with hard mixing etc. Anyway, we are getting another, but note this weakness.
Awesome March 22, 2007 Tracy (USA) We use this every day and it has pretty much replaced our blender. Highly recommend it. Makes great scrambled eggs and whipped cream!
hand blender February 10, 2007 E. Lynch (Lima, Ohio) This has become one of the essential items in my kitchen, fantastic item.
