I love this food processor December 1, 2008 Betty A. Bessette (Brevard, NC) I chose this processor after comparing it with others via various reviews. My cooking products magazine selected this as their first choice, user reviews were also top notch and superior to the Cuisinart (which I have used for years and was inclined to buy again). Since the price was comparable to a good Cuisinart and since it had better reviews, I bought the Kitchenaid. This particular processor has a great feed tube and came with a good assortment of slicers, etc. I love having the little processor bowl--I didn't think it'd need it but now use it a lot. HOWEVER, the first thing I sliced with the slicer attachment was cabbage. I must have overfilled it because the blade lifted up and actually shredded part of the cap, just at the bottom of the feed tube. This added shredded plastic to my cabbage--all had to go in the garbage. So, just don't overfill yours and you won't have a problem. Otherwise, it has handled everything I've put in it so far, no problems whatsoever. The problem I had was user error, not equipment related.
Great food processor! November 29, 2008 S. Tyrrell (Northern NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned two other top name food processors and this one exceeds the others by far. It is very heavy with a powerfull motor. The small bowl is great for chopping nuts. The grater worked great for sharp cheese. I also needed this to process dry dog food mixed with hot water for young puppies. It realy mushes the food great for them! I could not be happier!
great processor October 30, 2008 K. Bennett (Southern California) What a powerful machine. I absolutely love my processor. Shredded 2 bunches of carrots in about 10 seconds flat for carrot bread...delicious. One problem, I made Scalloped potatoes and got plastic shavings from the feed tube in the dish. It was probably my own fault, in my haste I may not have attached all the attachments properly. I still recommend it, so far. Just take care with the attachments and blades.
Great Food Processor October 24, 2008 Jill Walker (So. Oregon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this food processor. I did lots of research, trying to decide between this and a Cuisinart. I found lots of people who love both but in the end, went with this one since it was named "Best Overall" in at least two reports: http://www.consumersearch.com/www/kitchen/food-processors/. It was also a great deal on Amazon.com and I found a $20 rebate online which made it even harder to pass up! This replaces my Cuisinart Duet which didn't work well at all. I'm amazed by how quickly and perfectly it dices an onion and my kids think grating cheese is the coolest thing ever! The 4 cup mini bowl is an awesome feature for those smaller jobs!
Great Product October 24, 2008 doodle mom (Charlotte, NC) I've never had a food processor before but can't imagine a better one. So far, this has done every job very well. I've used it to grate cheese for fondue, mix meat for meatballs, and chop herbs and onions (used the smaller bowl). It's heavy duty and handled all the jobs with ease. As I mentioned, it is very powerful so the first time I chopped onions I ended up with onion soup. Next time I used the pulse button. It's suprisingly quiet as well. Everything (but the base) cleans up great in the dishwasher. The only negatives are the weight, it's pretty heavy and it's fairly large, so finding a place to store it might be a problem.
