I wanted a coffee maker without plastic, that could make about up to 4 large mugs of coffee and did not require those messy paper filters that I always forget to buy. This is IT! You grind the coffee fairly coarse, boil the water, add it, put on the plunger and then let sit about 4 to 5 minutes, then press down on the plunger. Voila! Great coffee, no fuss. The pot stays warm about an hour or so. This is not a thermos. Plus, the grounds easily slide out into garbage or sink and you pop the whole thing in the dishwasher and it is clean, sterile and spotless. The simple design and sturdy construction allow it to fit in at dinner table with company. Though it may be expensive, it is well constructed. Am recommending it to my friends.

I was looking for a coffee maker that we could take camping that would make delicious coffee but could also be used at home. The Frieling Press was just what I was looking for. It is very solidly built but also elegant enough to have on the dinner table. It makes delicious coffee as long as you use the correct grind of beans. The stainless steel pot keeps the coffee warm for quite a while. The only misleading thing was that it only makes 3 standard size coffee cups, not the 5-7 cups stated in the description. I use my French press all the time now instead of my drip coffee maker.

grounds are getting passed the plunger mechanism and into my coffee. I've been grinding my beans as coarsely as possible in order to eliminate smaller pieces of grounds from getting through. Also, the coffee itself is coming out oily. So, I'm not too pleased with this product.

I have never written a review before, but I feel that with this product (Frieling Stainless-Steel 35-Ounce French Press) I have to!!!!!!!
Not only is it heads and shoulders above any other french press in looks and durability, it makes the BEST coffee I have ever made!!!!!!
Also, there is no waste like making a full pot.
East clean up too.
I have given my old coffee maker away!!!!
I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!!!
