Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Make the freshest French fries in town using the French Fry Cutting Disc with your KitchenAid food processor. Produces fries that are a uniform 1/3- or 1/4-in. Use white potatoes, sweet potatoes or get creative and experiment with other vegetables. It works with the same efficiency as other KitchenAid discs and cleans up just as easily. Fits all 11-c models.

3 out of 5 stars Short Fries   November 16, 2008
NuJoi (Chicago, IL United States)
My first Amazon review was for the KitchenAid 670 food processor. I bought this disc shortly after. So after four years, I decided to use it for sweet potato fries.

The disc works great. The cuts are clean and uniform. The major flaw with the machine is that the feed tube is too small. You end up with really short fries. I'm going to contact KA to see if you can purchase a work bowl cover with a wide tube for the Classic 11-Cup Food Processor.

Update 11/24/08 KA has no plans to make a wide-mouth feed tube for the 11-Cup model.

4 out of 5 stars Okay for french fries, but great for dicing   December 20, 2007

I bought this to make the job of cutting up potatoes for oven fries easier. Well, I used it a few times but the results are just too short, due to the feed tube's limited size, to be of much interest.

However when I have a recipe that calls for diced onions, diced tomatoes, even diced bell peppers or other not-quite solid foods, this thing is great. Okay, if you were a chef expecting perfect cubes, you would be disappointed, but for the purposes of the home cook, the dicing this blade can do is a real time saver.

3 out of 5 stars Why I purchased the French Fry Attachment   January 21, 2003

I purchased the french fry cutter with the hope of getting a great french fry, instead I got more of a shoestring potato. This size does make a very good hash brown however.

I was not impressed with this purchase. Although it does everything it says it does, cut french fries, it is limited by the space in the feed tube. If you've already got the knife out to par down the potato to fit the tube, you might as well just slice your fries yourself. You will get a longer french fry and no wasted clean up. I prefer a fry that is longer than 3 inches which may even be stretching it for the final resulting fry size that you get out of this blade. As with most Kitchenaid products it is sturdy and will last, which is why I gave this blade a rating of 2. I have used my blade once and do not forsee it ever seeing the light of day again in my house.
