Product Description The sturdy, comfortable handles and quality craftsmanship of these tools ensure you'll find them easy to use and durable. They are dishwasher safe (except for the can opener) for easy care, and feature oversized hanging holes. Like the KitchenAid stand mixer they are built with long-lasting materials, and designed to provide satisfaction over many years of use. They even match your blue KitchenAid appliances!
Amazon.com Review The six heavy, sturdy tools in this set are as reliably functional as they are strikingly beautiful. The set comprises an 11-1/4-inch grater perfect for creating a shower of cheese over pasta or citrus zest for baking; a 9-inch ice-cream scoop that forms balls out of the hardest frozen confection; a powerful, 8-1/2-inch can opener; a 10-inch, 12-wire utility whisk for beating eggs and blending sauces; a 7-1/2-inch peeler with a sharp, 2-1/4-inch swiveling blade; and a 12-1/2-inch spatula with a long, 5-1/4-inch, black, silicone head that's perfect for quickly scraping bowls and folding ingredients. The spatula is heat-resistant to 500 degrees F, so it won't melt even if it touches a burner. The tools and gadgets have stylish enamel-like handles with polished 18/8 stainless-steel accents, and include hanging holes. They're dishwasher-safe. KitchenAid says the first year of their lifetime warranty against defects is hassle-free, with replacements shipped at no cost and without question if defects are detected. --Fred Brack

KitchenAid 5-Piece Gadget Set, Blue December 10, 2004 B. Pine (NY) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought the 5-piece set at a JC Penney's when i lived in Florida and paid more than $24.99. This set is great and I'm happy with all the tools. The can opener is the best, no more electric ones for me. The handles are comfortable to hold and you get a good tight grip with out hurting you hands. The ice cream scoop will not bend like so many I have used before. The peeler & whisk are the best i ever used. The scraper is really made for KitchenAid Stand mixer bowls and is quite long so you might want to buy a smaller KitchenAid scraper for regular bowls but this works well. Only tool I did not come with was the grader but they have a bigger set that does.
Kitchenaid tools rock in my kitchen! November 7, 2004 S. Evans (KS) For a number of years I had always purchased the cheap kitchen tools, accessories from the local dept. stores. It's true that you get what you pay for. When I received this set (I purchased the one in blue) I was very pleased with the overall quality of each individual item. I would recommend this for anyone that has ever bought those cheap plastic spatulas, the cheap metal cheese graters that are difficult to clean and always end up rusting and those cheap wire whisks that end up rusting also. You will get more than your monies worth out of this set.
Set is okay, but it has the worst grater February 17, 2004 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Over all the set is fine and useable with one glaring exception - the cheese grater is cheap and poorly designed. I attempted to use it once on some asiago (not the hardest cheese either) and it barely grated anything; the metal began bending and it would have broken had i continued. Many of the tiny bits it actually did grate became gummed up in the overlapping plastic frame. If you need a cheese grater this set is not a good deal, the grater is a total waste in my opinion.
Beefy October 2, 2003 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you like light weight tools, this isn't for you. Each of the pieces has a sturdy handle. It was a bit of a shock to handle them the first time. I grew to like them quickly. As another mentioned the can opener is superb. I'll add that I fell in love with the wisk and peeler. Ok, you can't love an inanimate object but I sure can come close. The peeler sails through apples and potatoes--that weight I mentioned help. The wisk's weight which is back in the hand seems to eliminate the normal fatigue one associates with wisking.
