This heavyweight, 14-by-11-inch cutting board is made of durable polypropylene and has textured, durable Santoprene handles on both ends to ensure a secure grip with wet hands and to anchor the board to a countertop. This is by far the best cutting board I have ever purchased. I have two sizes and they are all I use now. Easy to clean because it's not wood there's no bacteria fear when cutting chicken. I wipe mine down with a little bleach when cutting meat. Otherwise very little maintenance.

this cutting board is such an improvement over my last cheap old ones. This doesn't slip when I am using it and the best part is that is appears (so far) to not stain after cutting on it. I love the blue accents, it matches my kitchen.

Something I had not thought of but turned out to be a pleasant surprise is that when you stow it by leaning it against the wall the rubber ends allow it to stand up like that without slipping down across the countertop. Little things mean a lot! I had no trouble with the sticky residue left by the label - having been forewarned by all the kind Amazon reviewers I had my aerosol can of "OOPS" standing by and got the offending stuff off right away. I use this cutting board every day and it is grand.

I like the size of this poly board (last poly board was too large for the kitchen working space I have. I think the handle location is also an improvement over the last board.(Kitchenaid's handle is located on the top's side while my last board's handle was in the top's center.) Therefore, I find Kitchenaid's board easier to grab since I store the board behind my knife block.
I am not too sure about the firmness of the surface of the board; seems it may be just a bit too soft by the marks left in it the first time I used it. Yet, this could mean it is more gentle on knives. : )
