2 out of 5 stars Tasty alternative to polycarbonate bottles   May 24, 2008

Acquired three of these Sportline bottles to replace grocery-store polycarbonate bottles (bisphenol A scare, you know). I washed them out with baking soda. After two or three weeks of use, the plastic continues to impart a really unpleasant chemical flavor to the water (I find any flavor to be undesirable). Interestingly, the three bottles impart somewhat different flavors, so I might imagine that the Chinese manufacturer uses different formulations of plastic, if that's possible. Anyway, if the intensity of the flavors is related to the degree of some sort of undesirable physical effect, then I'm probably a goner.
