Noted for its ease of use, the seat takes just a few minutes to install and remove, and it is equally easy and safe to load and unload the child from the seat. They found that bike trailers kept their kids uncomfortably far away from them, got too hot in the sun, and only provided a limited view out to the children. The rear-mounted seats presented similar problems. The kids had a limited view and it was difficult to interact with them. Additionally, the balance of the bike was off and it was not easy to load and unload the kids. Other front mounted seats were complicated to hook onto the bike and difficult to remove. These seats also did not allow knee clearance for biking, and as a result were not comfortable. The iBert Safe-T seat offers a variety of safety and comfort advantages compared to other child bike seat options. The iBert Safe-T seat allows you to maintain control of the bike when loading and unloading your child. To load and unload the child, you simply straddle the bike and lift the child into or out of the seat. When using the iBert seat you can always see what your child is doing and you can make sure that your child is safe and comfortable at all times. The center of gravity in the iBert seat is closer to the center of the bike making it easier to control the bike as you ride. The seat sits higher on the bike and is smooth on the bottom so that even tall riders rarely brush the bottom of the seat with their knees and if they do they just glide along the smooth edges on the bottom. The iBert Safe-T seat is easy to install. The patented stinger assembly attaches to any bike with a minimum of 3/4 inches on the handle bar stem. The stinger system attaches to the bike in just two minutes and the seat can then be attached and detached from the stinger in 15 seconds.  Better than a bike trailer August 30, 2008

My kid definitely prefers this to bike trailer -- she's right up close with me so that we can have conversations together, she can feel like she's right up there "driving," and she can see everything! Probably the only thing she can't do anymore is eat or play with a toy, since she's not allowed to hold anything that might fall in the front wheel (but then again, she never asks to do either of these things anymore, since she's usually so taken with the passing scene).
Mounting the thing is fairly easy, although my husband and I both have folding bikes (a Dahon and a Brompton) and it took a little toying to figure where on the stem the thing would actually fit. We finally figured out that it's actually easier to leave the seat mounted on the "tongue," then toy around with where the tongue actually works on the stem. We move the seat between our bikes -- usually takes <5 minutes to get it on or off.
Biggest difficulty is with starting and stopping -- It's just different with something between you and the front handlebars. Also, it's basically impossible to stand up on your pedals to climb a big hill, so you either have to have great gears, great quads, or flat terrain.
This thing has been great! I've been wanting to take our kid around with the bike for some time, but she always resisted getting in the trailer -- with this seat, she's almost always eager to get on the bike.

Just got mine today. Will see how my 7 month old takes it.
I was surprised to find so little in the box for $85!! When I resell it I won't even ger $10 for it. I guess most of the cost is for being the first to the market.
The plastic is ok quality - no cousion seat. The back doesn't have higher support. Comparared to othe good quality seats this seat should not have been more than $30. What a rip-off.
Only reason I had to buy this product was so that I could take my older kid in the back with the single wheel attachment and the 7 month in front.

Every one who saw this complement, my kid loves it, he is 20 months 29lb still fit.
The plastic seat's quality is very good and rich looking. Installation was easy. I just cannot think of anything negative.

It's so simple to hook up and comes off with ease if you want to ride solo. We are finally back on our bikes. We'll have to get a rear riding seat once he hits the weight max, but for now we love our iBert.
