3 out of 5 stars Didn't get a chance to use it...wasn't the right one for my catch & release fisherman   August 29, 2008
Simone Simon
I purchased this scale for my husband to use for fishing (and admit was also excited about being able to use it for household stuff, too). It *looked* like a great product when we got it, but I ended up returning it because my husband, who likes to fish mainly catch-and-release, didn't like the hook. Aparently, there are other scales out there that have a clamp that attaches to the fish's mouth, instead of having to gouge the hook through the fish (like this one). So I don't have any product experience to share for this one, but wanted to point out the design issue that may make or break it for others.

1 out of 5 stars Arrived late, did not work, poor company support   August 12, 2008

Despite a tracking number, this order did not get shipped out for some reason. Based on other reviews, it sounded like the perfect thing to weigh my suitcases, and it was supposed to get shipped right away. Finally, it arrived a week late. It did not work. Called the company (Berkley) and they just wanted to read the instructions to me, and kept telling me it was the batteries. I told them several times it's not the batteries, as it switches on just fine. It just won't weigh anything. But I humored them and checked the batteries 3 times, took them out, put them back in, etc. Switches on, won't register anything but 0 lb. 0 oz. After 25 minutes on the phone they said I'd have to send the current one in first before they sent a replacement. With my trip coming up, I don't have the time for that. I'll go for another brand of scale.

5 out of 5 stars Exellent tool for international traveller   July 4, 2008

I bought this scale to weight my suitcases before I travel. I always travel with maximum weight allowed, this lets me pack my suitcases to the maximum weight allowed in peace and quite at home. Prior to this I would use a personal scale, which was not very accurate, and often I would have to repack my suitcase at the airport, which was rather inconvenient. This is little marvel.

5 out of 5 stars Great for fish or measuring thrust and wt of RC aircraft   February 21, 2008
Dr. B (Logan, UT USA)
Inexpensive scale for measuring wt of fish and RC airplanes. Hook it to the tail of an aircraft and measure the thrust of different prop, motor, and battery combinations. If the thrust to weight ratio is too low you can determine that the plane will not fly and save your self a crash. Measures to the nearest oz.

5 out of 5 stars Accurate and Inexpensive   February 5, 2008
Dean Bielanowski (Brisbane, Queensland Australia)
A nice little weighing device for fishing or general postage item weights. I use it for fishing and it provides a quick and accurate measure of fish weight. It uses two CR2032 batteries and has a battery saving mode which switches the device off after two minutes of non-use. Handy as these batteries can be expensive if you rip through them often. The scale can read in both pounds and kilograms which is great as I am in Australia and prefer metric scale, as used over here. Operation is simple with two buttons so you are up and running in seconds. Great little scale (for whatever purpose) and appears to be quite accurate too.
