About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home. From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface. While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Treadmill   March 18, 2008

I love this treadmill! I've had it 2.5 years and had no problems. The fan is fantastic. It's a great piece of equipment.

5 out of 5 stars I definitely recommend this treadmill and buying it through Amazon   May 1, 2007

I did a great deal of research before buying my treadmill and couldn't be happier w/the Ironman 220t.

It was easy to put together, is very sturdy, well-made, easy-to-use...everything that you'd want in a treadmill. I especially like the built-in fan and the speed and incline controls that are located right on the handrails.

It was delivered by Amazon before the expected date (can't argue w/that) and the driver for the company that delivered it (Eagle) was nice enough to put it in my garage for me.

Heads up...definitely need 3 to 4 strong men to lift this machine. But, for all that you get for such a great price and w/such great service...it is absolutely worth it.

3 out of 5 stars Customer Service is Terrible   April 9, 2007

I bought this Ironman treadmill from Amazon at a great price. I believe it to be a sturdy, decent product, but ours arrived with what we believe to be loose deck mounts, so it squeaks horrifically when you step near the front of the deck. You can barely hear a loud television over the racket. While I'm tempted to take the treadmill apart and fix it myself, I would rather utilize the warranty while it's active.

Now for the bad news. It takes 20-30 minutes to get a human on the line when you call Keys Fitness customer service. My call has been dropped after a long wait a couple of times, too. When I finally did get a person, they were very friendly and told me they'd get a service person out to repair my treadmill. Four weeks later, after hearing nothing from the service people, I called Keys again. Again they were very friendly and told me that they'd resend my service request and they gave me the number of the repair people so I could call them if I didn't hear from them. A week later, after hearing nothing, I called the repair folks, only to find out that they haven't done Keys warranty work for two years. They just ignore the orders they receive from Keys. How can Keys not know this??? When I called Keys back (another 30 minutes on hold) a technician reacted like it was no big deal and this happens all the time. In my mind, this is just unacceptable. No matter how friendly the people are, if the customer doesn't actually get service, then it's not customer service.

It seems like a decent treadmill, but if you have to deal with Keys, good luck.

5 out of 5 stars Good one   March 9, 2007

I used it for 3weeks so far. I am using it for jogging and walking. I think my decision was correct that a horse power more than 2.0HP would be good for jogging. The machine sounds like there is given no overload when it is running at least at 5.0mph. I didn't detect any strange or uncomfortable sounds so far. It sounds stable and smooth. I like the appearance, not luxury but okay. I recommend this for a cheap price.

5 out of 5 stars IronMan 220t, good product, relatively easy set up.   February 11, 2007

After extensive review of treadmills in this range, I chose the 220t because after all the comparisons, it offered a solid reputation, good warranty and very competitive price. I checked on the post sales support, and it was good as well.

The product was delivered faster than the predicted window that Amazon gave me. The delivery company (Eagle) was very flexible to my schedule.

Let there be no mistake, the box this arrives in is about 7 feet long, 3 feet wide and weighs a lot. Plan where you are going to assemble it, you need a large area. Assembly only takes about 1 hour (including wife and children interruptions).

This is a solid unit. The performance has been great, and it's as good as any unit I've used at the gym. We're not sorry we chose this product.
