I see that others have rated this block with five stars and I couldn't agree more. This is the preferred block among any that I've tried. I don't mind that it is a bit more dense than the foam blocks, because it's even more stable and less prone to wear and tear. I am back to order a second one so I have two to work with.

I enjoy this cork block. It is nice to use a foam alternative... I was a little worried that it would soak up sweat during a workout, but that seems to be a non-issue. Imagine, if you ever broke/damaged this block (which I doubt because it's super durable) you could throw it out in your yard waste garbage can! Not bad. Think of how long that dense foam block would sit in a landfill...

There were two things that pleasantly surprised me about this product. One was the weight. It is very solid, which makes me feel really secure when using it for even the most challenging balancing exercises. The second was the feel of it. It has an outside texture that feels like the softest suede. I was extremely pleased with this product.

If you've only used foam blocks, then you're in for a real treat when you try a cork block. It provides a firm, stable platform, which feels like you're hand is actually on the floor, so you can concentrate on your pose. I've been using this Hugger Mugger block for about a month and couldn't be happier with the quality.

I wanted yoga blocks that are good for the environment, and these were the ones I ordered. They serve their purpose very well, but they are heavy. I wouldn't recommend them for taking to class--better used at home in your own yoga studio. I wouldn't want to carry them around.
