The inspiration for the colorful Carmina pattern is the Mediterranean as the warm blues and greens evoke the colors of the sea while the lemony yellow is reminiscent of the unrelenting sun. The varied tableware in this pattern mixes and matches these colors along with using well-known fruits from the region--olives and lemons--to liven up the centers of some of this dinnerware. This 13-1/2-inch-long oval platter easily moves from daily dining to informal entertaining and is perfect for serving a side of grilled vegetables for four or passing hors d'oeuvres at a party. A cluster of olives dons the middle of this platter while a vibrant green border covers the majority of the rim. A thinner band comprised of varying shades of blue diamonds on a mottled olive green background trims the outer edge followed by a single blue stripe and a final yellow edging. This platter is part of Royal Doulton's casual Studio line, which is built to handle the rigors of everyday use. Constructed of fine china, Carmina is resistant to chipping and is safe for the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer.
