Product Description Bolo's simple lines and brushed finish will appeal to those of a modernist frame of mind. The gently curved handles make these pieces comfortable in the hand, just as their softly matte texture makes them easy on the eye.
Amazon.com Review The Bolo pattern, classy and bold, suits everyday as well as formal dining occasions. This 42-piece set includes eight five-piece place settings and a large serving fork and spoon. Made of 18/8 stainless steel, the flatware features satin-finish handles and lightly polished business ends. Conveniently boxed in a 12-1/4-by-16-inch wooden storage tray, the set includes eight of each of the following: 9-1/4-inch dinner knife, 7-3/4-inch dinner fork, 7-3/4-inch soup spoon, 6-1/2-inch teaspoon, and 7-1/4-inch salad fork. Rounding off the collection is the hostess set, featuring a 9-inch three-tined serving fork for cold meats and a 9-inch generously proportioned serving spoon. The handsomely balanced knives feature superior one-piece construction with hollow handles and high-carbon cutlery steel edges. While Yamazaki approves the use of a dishwasher for cleaning the flatware, the company recommends against dishwashing compounds that contain lemon and suggests drying the flatware by hand to prevent spotting. Yamazaki covers the set with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 8 place settings. Each place setting consists of: 9-1/4-inch dinner knife, 7-3/4-inch dinner fork, 7-3/4-inch soup spoon, 6-1/2-inch teaspoon, and 7-1/4-inch salad fork. 2-piece hostess set includes 9-inch serving fork and 9-inch serving spoon. 42 pieces total.

Good looking; doesn't withstand dishwasher... June 14, 2008 N. Allen (Vermont) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We really liked how this product looked in the picture and were impressed by the positive reviews on amazon. It looked quite good out of the box too, and we immediately thought it would be perfect for everyday wear. Now, "everyday wear" for me really means withstanding the dishwasher, and some of the pieces have done poorly in the dishwasher, showing signs of rust on several of the knives. The instructions warn you about using dishwasher soap with lemon in it (which we don't use) so it's a mystery about why they're rusting so fast. I think for the money, they really should be dishwasher safe. So, we're torn, because they look good and the weight is great for daily use, but having some of the pieces corrode after just a couple of weeks of use is upsetting. We're probably going to return them.
Beautiful, Well-made, Serviceable June 13, 2008 Drew Wallen (Davie, FL USA) The wooden box came apart in shipping but it went back together easily. Great value for money. NOTE: Table knives do not have serrated edges
Superb flatware! June 8, 2008 D. Moore (Cleveland, OH) I've owned the Yamazaki Bolo 42-piece flatware set for well over a year now, and I love it! Superior quality; doesn't bend or tarnish, and I haven't been a careful owner, either. I get compliments on the look and heavy/sturdy feel. Also comes in a nice looking wooden holder, if you don't already have one. Of course, they're not the cheapest set of flatware, but if you want to buy one set that will last, it's money that you will never regret having spent.
Great flatware July 26, 2007 A. Schneider (Los Angeles, CA United States) We got these for our wedding, and I'm very happy with them. They are weighty, have a nice finish, and they come with serving utensils. They don't feel cheap at all. We've been using them for almost a year now, and there are no blemishes or problems with the finish or craftsmanship. We don't put the knives in the dishwasher (can never get them dry without spotting), but the spoon and forks survive quite nicely. After having searched for something to register for, I think these compare very favorably to the sets at Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn, which usually run about $30-$40 per place setting.
Outstanding (and a great gift) April 19, 2007 Mark W. Piper (Seattle, WA USA) It's been a year since I bought this set, and I still smile a bit when I open up my silverware drawer. The finish on this flatware is beautiful. It's soft, shiny, and pearlescent. I love the shape of each piece. I've been surprised how well the set has held up in the dishwasher. The luster has stayed, and although when scratches appear they're quite noticeable, I have had very few scratches appear. The set would make a very fine gift. The presentation of it even in the packing deserves comment: each piece is individually wrapped and has a gold tie-off. The wooden box is excellent. I'm thrilled that I bought this set. It makes me wish my silverware didn't have to live in a drawer.
