Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review The wild rose that rambles across much of America's landscape decorates this popular 1941 dinnerware pattern. The pattern features pink roses with yellow centers and green leaves resting on a creamy background, while brown twining stems form an irregular rim on some of the pattern pieces. Hand-painted with visible brush strokes, each piece exudes its own individuality. Standing on its own as a gift or accessorizing a full range of Franciscan Desert Rose dinnerware, this 13-inch chip-and-dip tray creates an instant party. Four divided compartments of equal size hold handfuls of chips, crackers, or carrot sticks, while the central round section holds a generous scoop or separate bowl of dip. The roses circle the outer edge of the concave compartments. Named for the founders of California's historic missions, there's nothing ascetic about Franciscan ware today: the durable chip tray is safe for the microwave and freezer, and slips into the dishwasher for scrub-free cleaning. --Ann Bieri
