Product Description This popular bone china pattern surrounds blooming sprays of colorful English roses with hand-applied bands of 22K gold.
Amazon.com Review Designed in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft, Royal Albert's Old Country Roses has become one of the most popular china patterns in the company's century-long history. The sumptuous design is enhanced by the pieces' sophisticated shape, graceful floral ornamentation, and rich feminine colors, with a style and elegance that are uniquely English. Measuring 9-1/2 inches tall, 9-1/4 inches wide, and 11-1/2 inches from handle to handle, this tureen provides ample room for serving vegetables or soup while adding elegance to the table. The crisp white background gracefully showcases the pink and golden yellow country roses displayed around the bowl of the tureen, on the handles, and the lid. Set on a bed of greenery, the delicate flowers resemble those growing in a classic English garden. A sculptural definition decorates the bowl as well as the lid, and a hand-trimmed border in 22-carat gold completes the romantic design. A graceful pedestal adds height to the tureen, while a groove in the lid ensures that the serving utensil can remain in the dish at all times. For best results, Royal Albert recommends washing fine bone china by hand. --Lea Werbel

Vegie Tureen, A Hole for a Spoon? Where's the Spoon? January 31, 2007 Douglas Brown (Las Vegas, NV USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm really glad it has the cut away for a ladel / Spoon. But does the Mfg make one? Where can I find additional serving pieces?
I got a great deal. January 10, 2007 Carolyn E. Monroe (Tulsa, OK, United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's beautiful and the pattern matches all the other Old Country Roses items I've purchased, but it does not have the same quality of China. It is oven safe so maybe it's intended to be thicker. Anyway, it's a great deal for the price I paid. It was on sale and I got free shipping.
Buyer beware December 30, 2006 Ann L. Melton (Flatonia Texas) My mom bought this item for me for Christmas because I own a collect of Old Country Rose dinnerware. We werte so dissappointed when it arrived because the tureen is extremely heavy. We began to look at the bottom of the dish, no clue where it was made. Finally there on the bottom of the box "Made in China"!!!. It does not have the English bone china quality. There is nothing on the web page telling us where it was made. We sent ours back.
