Alfredo Haberli focused only on the essentials the wine and the glass when designing the Essence wineglass series. A few different sizes is enough to serve a wide range of wines. Even though the shape of the glass is festive and modern, it has been designed on wine's terms. The stems and base of all the glasses are the same size. The bowls of the glasses share the same shape, a precise tapering towards the rim of the glass only their sizes vary. I love the design but I was worried that the thin guage of the glass would be too fragile. We've had our first two for two years now and we haven't broken one yet!

We got the iittala essence red wine glasses as a gift. Not only do they look awesome and feel good but they make the wine taste great too. Shortly after we got them we did a taste test comparing these glasses against our "cheap" glasses. Every wine we tasted was noticably better in this glass. We liked them so much we bought more so we'd have plenty when we have friends over.
