A timeless classic from one generation to the next, creamy white Basketweave sets a casual yet refined table for any occasion, from everyday meals to celebratory parties. The broad rims are embossed with a realistic basket-weave design, showing wide bands bending under and over narrower ribs that run concentrically around the rim. A slim twist element handsomely defines the very edge, completing the textural appeal of the pattern. Oneida produces Basketweave in a wide range of serving and entertaining pieces, resulting in a fully coordinated table. Each of the eight place settings in this 53-piece set consists of not the usual five but six pieces, the bonus being a small 6-1/4-inch bowl for fruit, sorbet, or other dessert. The other pieces in each setting consist of a 10-3/4-inch dinner plate, 7-1/2-inch salad plate, 8-7/8-inch rimmed bowl for soup or cereal, and a 2-3/8-inch flat teacup with matching saucer. Echoing the can shape of the cup is a creamer that also works well for sauces and syrup, and a sugar bowl with a lid. Received this item this morning. The quality of the dinnerware is good and it has a lovely pattern. Unfortunately the packaging is not really designed for individual shipment to the consumer, and a handful of the 53 pieces where completely shattered. Surprisingly, the dishes were either completely intact or completely destroyed with no hope of use. Nothing contained minor chips/dings.
The product itself is actually Sakura Basketweave Set; Oneida is the parent company but i was unable to find replacement pieces at the official Oneida online store as the pattern is not listed.
Rated 3 stars due to the fact that the Amazon customer service staff was extremely helpful when i spoke to them and i can expect a new set of dishes on Tuesday, just in time for Thanksgiving.
