Amazon.com Review A bright room accent is any easy way to transform a predictable palette into a spectacular space. Add a punch of color to a kitchen island, dining room table, or living room display shelf with Sasaki's Envy Green art glass platter. Measuring a generous 18 inches in diameter, this stunning mouth-blown piece showcases a dappled expanse of complementary greens--from yellowy chartreuse to mouth-watering Granny Smith Apple green to opulent emerald--with a layered, light-infused glow that only quality glass can convey. The platter's low, minimalist shape also features the streamlined Japanese aesthetic for which Sasaki in known, and simple details like the thick rim and concave center take on an ethereal elegance. A popular decorating color, green is calming, refreshing, and natural. So whether it is heralding in the long-awaited coming of spring or setting a reflective mood, this platter is sure to engage the spirit and the senses. Because it is handmade, each piece has its own variations. For decorative use only; hand washing is recommended. --Kara Karll

~~Sometimes size matters~~ July 10, 2008 chef corvette (planetNY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
first~this item is really huge....check your tape measure; 18 1/4"...make sure you have a surface to display this piece. The item is hand blown...which is an artistic way to express that each item is unique. This is true, but, part of the uniqueness is lopsidedness, color variations that are not organic...lines of purple that were meant to be blended, but didn't. It is a substantial piece, that is pleasing to the eye and has heft. The price of this item has fluctuated radically....under $20, it is a steal. At $60+ take your chances. The colors are more monochromatic than noted on other reviews. Sometimes size matters~
Beautiful Piece July 8, 2008 Leventhal Partners LLC (Cleveland, OH) The item is beautiful; large and a great color. You need in inspect it when it arrives. I ordered several and 2 arrived broken - aparently UPS's fault. Amazon was very helpful and sent replacements immediately, but I'm fortunate that I inspected them upon arrival. Had I just left them in the cartons I think I would have been out of luck.

Pictures do not do justice for this item. I was thoroughly surprised when it arrived. You kinda have to look at it three or four times to catch all the different ways that it reflects and refracts the light. It's so nice it should literally be a piece of art in and of itself, instead of a platter.
Oops! March 13, 2008 A. Albright (Oklahoma, USA) 7 out of 24 found this review helpful
I received the Sasaki Envy Green Art Glass Platter FREE with the purchase of a flatware set. (Seems petty of me to write a critical review, doesn't it?) However, I really didn't read the product information carefully when I took advantage of the promotional offer. (Free is hard to beat!) I did note that the platter was for decorative purposes only and figured it was leaded glass. As a purely decorative item, the platter is interesting and the color is a stunning Envy Green. What I did not take full consideration of is the enormity of the platter. It is HUGE! Okay, it clearly says it is an 18-Inch Art Glass Platter. This should have been a clue. But in the freebie frenzy, it did not register that it would not fit in any cabinet or storage area that I have and there is no place in the house that it can safely adorn. Be sure you have a place for it (or a friend to give it to) if you take advantage of the flatware deal!
